What to Get the Person Who Already Has Too Many Dice
Every TTRPG player owns more dice than they'll ever need. That's not a criticism. Dice goblins are a necessary part of the community. But that means if you're buying a gift for one, dice are off the table. Literally.
Here's what isn't off the table: a clock shaped like the one die that actually matters.
The problem with most gamer decor
Most "gamer gift" decor falls into two camps. Camp one: dragons, swords and a color palette borrowed from a 2009 fantasy novel cover. Camp two: a mug that says "Roll for Initiative" in a font that was tired five years ago. Both are fine, but neither is great.
What we made instead
The Critical Hit D20 Wall Clock is a twenty-sided die that happens to tell time. Precision-crafted acrylic, mirror and pearl finish, available in Emerald, Maroon, Black & Gold or Navy. It reads as a piece of decor first and a nod to the hobby second; the kind of thing that works in a game room, a home office or a dungeon, should you have one of those.
Handmade in Texas, one at a time. No two are identical, which the brand considers a feature.
Who it’s actually for
- The player who has a favorite character sheet, laminated
- Whoever runs the campaign and needs the game room to look like it was decorated on purpose
- Someone who rolled a genuine critical hit once and has never stopped bringing it up
- Anyone buying a "they have everything" gift who's tired of buying dice
The gift-giving math
A clock beats another dice set for one reason: dice go in a drawer. A clock goes on a wall, where it will be seen, asked about and used to check whether the session is running long…again.
Ca-Caw.
